Dr. Inés Gil-Jaurena is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Education at the National Distance Education University (Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia-UNED), Spain. She coordinates the CO-Lab teaching innovation group at UNED.Editor for Open Praxis journal since 2012.
Professor Tian Belawati has served lifetime professional contributions to open and distance learning (ODL). She has had extensive experiences in research, teaching, and administration of a large-scale open university system. Professor Belawati was the Rector of Universitas Terbuka (Indonesia Open University) from 2009 until 2017. She had taken decisive actions to mobilize effort in partnerships with stakeholders to improve the quality of ODL, develop greater public confidence in ODL, and establish collaborative effort with international as well as regional ODL institutions and associations. She is extensively involved in various joint initiatives with other ODL players and organizations in her capacity as both ODL researcher and top administrator. Her professional achievements have led her appointments as Secretary General (2007-2009) and then President (2009-2010) of the Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU), as a member of the Election Committee (2007-2009), a member of the Executive Committee (2009-2011), the President (2012-2015), a member of Board of Trustee (2015-2020), and then a member of the Control Committee (2021-now) of the International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE); as member of Board of Directors in the Open Education Consortium (2017-2019). Nationally, Prof. Belawati was serving as member of the Indonesian Higher Education Council since 2018-2020.
Brenda Cecilia Padilla Rodriguez (a.k.a. Brenda Padilla) is a researcher at the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon in Mexico, where she also teaches at graduate level and coordinates the MSc in Cognition and Education. She is a lecturer at University da Vinci (Mexico) and Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Spain). As an international consultant, Brenda applies innovative pedagogic principles to enable academic institutions, companies and non-governmental organisations to optimise their learning and training practices through the use of digital technologies. She is the founder of the consultancy groups E-Learning Monterrey, E-Learning Mexico and E-Learning International. Brenda’s research and supervision at Master’s and doctoral levels focus on open education, learning technologies and pedagogical innovation.
Dr. Cindy Ives has served more than 30 years in five Canadian universities as instructor, educational developer, researcher, learning designer and academic administrator including Vice-President Academic at Athabasca University. Dr. Ives has been a key player in many of AU’s innovative online and open initiatives, including MOOCs, Open Education Resources, course and program development and evaluation, digital learning resources and learning analytics. She is now full professor of Distance Education at AU, where she teaches courses at the masters and doctoral levels. Current research projects focus on organizational change in Canadian universities adopting online learning, women and leadership in higher education, academic integrity and co-supervision and mentorship of graduate students in online programs. Cindy’s educational background includes a PhD in Educational Technology and a Master and Bachelor of Arts. She is currently Past President of the Canadian Network for Innovation in Education (CNIE) and Vice President of the AMTEC Trust.
Paul Prinsloo is a Research Professor in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) in the Department of Business Management, College of Economic and Management Sciences, University of South Africa (Unisa). He is a Visiting Professor at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, Germany, a Research Associate for Contact North I Contact Nord (Canada) and a Fellow of the European Distance and E-Learning Network (EDEN) and serves on several editorial boards. In the South African context Paul has a B3 research rating confirming his considerable international reputation for the high quality and impact of his research outputs. His academic background includes fields as diverse as theology, art history, business management, online learning, and religious studies. Paul is an internationally recognised speaker, scholar and researcher and has published numerous articles in the fields of teaching and learning, student success in distance education contexts, the ethical collection, analysis and use of student data in learning analytics, and (digital) identities.

Ossiannilsson, Sweden is a professor of innovation and open online learning. She is an independent expert, quality reviewer, and researcher in the fields of open, flexible, and distance learning (OFDL). She is V President of the Swedish Association for Distance Education and a board member of Job and Skills Coalition Sweden and the Swedish Organization of e-Competences. She is on ICDE Board and in EDEN Executive Committee. She is a quality reviewer in ICDE and EADTU. She is chair of the ICDE OER Advocacy Committee for its third term and ICDE OER Ambassador since 2017. Ossiannilsson is a member of the International Council on Badges and Credentials and chairs the Committee on Taxonomy and Quality Grid, she is also a reviewer. She works with the European Commission, UNESCO, Commonwealth of Learning, and collaborates with International Labor Organization (ITCILO). She has been working in the field of ODFL since 2000 and has over 40 years of experience in educational development and innovation. Her main experience is from Lund University, but also as a consultant for several national and international universities. She is on the editorial board of several academic journals and the Guest Editor for three Special Issues. She is a frequent keynote speaker at international and international conferences. Her publications include over 200+.
